Well, what a day! LJ woke up around 6:30 this morning, ready to go. Usually when he wakes up that early, he's not in the best mood. Today was different. He ate breakfast, we did our bible study, and by 9 a.m. we were all ready to do something. I figured we'd beat the crowd at the Y, so we headed that way. I thought I'd try childcare since it had been a couple of days. I was in luck - when we arrived, LJ was one of three kids there, with four sitters. When we went in there, he went straight to some toys, wanting me to play with him. I did for a bit, then told him I'd be back in a bit and we'd go to the pool. He began to cry, and my heart broke like it does every time. I kissed him goodbye and hid out of sight. Within a few seconds, he stopped! He stood there quietly for just a moment then began playing. I kept checking on him throughout the time I worked out, and every time I did, he was playing happily.

Early day, good day, funny boys.
I went to pick him up, already dressed in my suit and we headed to the indoor pool. As we left, he's saying , "byeeeee" ( he accents the "eeee" at the end), and waving to his teachers.
He walked happily with me the whole way, talking about some things I could understand, others I could not. We went to the locker room where it's always crazy getting dressed and undressed. The mirrors, the scale, the other people, the showers, make LJ roam and wave, (whether he or the recipient of his efforts has clothes on or not). My walking around, chasing him to put on or take off clothes, at the same time wondering if one of us is getting athlete's foot, is probably very amusing to an outsider. It's a dance every mom does, though. It's worth the fun in the pool, but honestly, I think it makes me more tired than the running I did beforehand! :) In the pool, he played sweetly, walking in the water up to his chin. We swam in the big pool, too, using the kick bar to kick and to splash each other.
On our way home, he was so tired. It's about a three minute ride, but he was falling asleep before I turned the first corner. Using songs from Diego, pointing out fake dogs and birds, I made it home with him awake, ready for lunch. We ate quickly, then took a shower. He loved his shower, yet again, playing "shower ball", ( throwing the loofah), while I got clean. After that, there was no stopping him, he was ready for bed.
We both napped, a good nap, and went out with Rookie late in the afternoon. It was a time for the boys, ( Rookie really needed it), so we just played fetch, slid down slides and pulled flowers for 30 or 45 minutes. I have attached some pictures of that. Rookie was in his glory ...bless his heart. He deserves that daily. We came home, watered our impatients, and headed out for dinner.
LJ and I tried a local restaurant, ( it may be a franchise?), called the Baker's Crust. After some soup for me and chicken fingers for him, we took a dessert to go. I ate the crepes when we got home, and he at the ice cream that came with them. He LOVED it, sitting in his high chair, enjoying it at his own pace. We turned on the Red Sox/Yankees game, ( any ball game will do), and we played till bath time. He's so funny -- every time the Red Sox fans yelled, we'd say "Go! Go!", and he'd laugh so hard.
He's in bed now, and I'm finishing up my tea. It's been a good day. I hope your Sunday was good, too. We look forward to hearing from you about your lives...we'll be back tomorrow!
Love,
Jamie
