Meet me, Chopped liver!

Lance just walked in the door, LJ ran and JUMPED into his arms, Rookie grabbed a ball to fetch - how's that for a reception?  Makes me smile :)

LJ's Posse :)

 posse (päsē)

noun

4.  Slang

  1.  gang, esp. one engaged in selling drugs
  2. any group of people, as of a person's friends and associates
LJ definitely has a group that fits definition #4, (b). Throughout our stay at home, LJ has been surrounded by his "posse". The Johnson's across the street, the Lewis' as well, the Smallwoods...if that's not an admirable "posse", I don't know what is!  They love him when he's loveable and even when he's being the typical 2 year old.  I am so thankful for these two weeks.  LJ has missed his daddy, but he's had so much fun with some great men, (and women!) in his absence.

OK, these are not of the group, but they are of his pj's he wore after visiting with them --- cape and all!

Growing up!

striking a super-hero pose

OK, how cool is this?  LJ wearing Jarret's Bama helmet while Jarret wears his Baltimore one.  P.S.  They are playing with a game ball from the Ravens...in the grass.  Seriously, LJ gets away with anything with this guy :)  On a side-note:  They play pretty rough and LJ doesn't know any differently.  While playing football with a 5 year-old at the pool a couple days ago, LJ "cackled" him---completely laid him out.  The kids mom looked at me like, "What just happend?"  I almost said, "I'm sorry - he's been training with an NFL guy"  I told LJ, we have to "tone it down a little when it's not Mr. Jarret"  :)

In his Mcqueen car and cap ready to go to Mr. Jarret's...(he wants to be called Uncle, so we're working on it!  :)  He's definitely earned that status.

Precious.  If Jarret has a boy, he's gonna be jealous of this one.

...and this one. :)

Sweet Doris and Jackson. We love them - they take such good care of all of us!

"Racing" with Jarret

There is no "posse" post complete without Uncle Wood!

Seriously, y'all...was I your surrogate?  This is ridiculous!  :)

Sweet Jarret and Anna -- thank y'all so much and Good luck this fall!

Moments from home :)

We have had a great week so far!  Granny stopped by to bring LJ his precious present, (pictured below).  I got to have some special time with Beason before he left and Me-Maw as she helped him move.  LJ has been riding his Lightening McQueen car like it's his job, with Rookie and I walking aside of him.  It's been great.  Sorry I haven't blogged lately - I've got the "blogging blahs" after doing it for so long, so I may be doing like 2-3 posts a week now, rather than each night.  I promise it will pass!  :)  Hope you are well!!!

This is LJ with his new blanket.  His precious Granny made this for him, and it is WONDERFUL!  LJ feels so special in it because it has his name and all of our names on it, and it's nothing but baseball.  Every day and every night, from now on, he will nap and sleep with it.  What an amazing gift!!!

Granny got to hand-deliver it!  After she gave it to him, he curled up on the couch with it immediately!

Poor Rookie - LJ has now taken to picking him up!  In one of the other pictures, Rookie is looking me in the eye, like "Please....do something."  In this one, he's licking his lips like, "You're time's coming, kid"  :)

One of my favorite views, and I see it like 4 times a day.  This is LJ on his "Lightening McQueen" powerwheel vehicle.  He drives down to the col-de-sac where he runs the bases painted on the concrete, (and usually skins at least one knee), then we ride back home.  He actually is very careful, rides on the right side of the street, looks for cars, (we both do, don't worry), then pulls into the driveway and parks it in the garage.  Big time!

Lovin' his Alabama home, (but missing his daddy!)

All Star Break!

Here are some pictures from the fun times I described before - more to come :)

I am shocked, but he LOVES riding on the 4-wheeler with Jarrett!

My mom taught me "presentation is everything :)"  She can make a take-out sandwich look like elegant tea-time food with the right plates and garnishes.  Here are my easy-peasy pillsbury cookie bars, (one is oat, nut, caramel, the other chocolate chip peanut butter bars)  They may have been easy, but they sure look pretty for the cook-out!

LJ and his better-batter baseball --- best. toy. ever.

Before jumping off the high part of the boat with Lance.  We anchored and just swam - Jarrett was the best to take us out on the boat.  Lance and I agree it might have been the highlight of our all-star break!

Our Alabama Home!

I know, I'm MIA, but I'm at home enjoying every minute with Lance.  Already, (in the 24 hours since I've been home), I have used all my mixing bowls, 2 pyrex dishes, filled and washed dishes...like I haven't had a kitchen in months!!!  Breakfast casserole, cookie bars...you name it, we've been cooking!  :)  I love it here! Also, LJ has a "posse", a "fan club", if you will.  Our neighbor, "Mr Jarrett" and "Uncle Wood" were over last night playing with him, obeying his every request.  They stood where and how he told them to.  One "shagged balls and threw it in to the other who "restocked" his tee for hitting.  LJ was riding a 4-wheeler with Jarrett, and he asked Erik to hop on, too.  Staying true to the norm, Erik couldn't say no, so he, Jarrett and LJ were on that tiny 4-wheeler seat together.  LJ is LIVING it up!!  Lance got in after midnight last night, and we've just had a ball today.  Tucker has been over playing, the Smallwoods and Jarrett and Anna, too.  Uncle B stopped in for a bit yesterday and even kept LJ for me as I ran to publix for the "essentials", (you know, cookie dough and fruit :) ).  I have pictures of a lot of this, but it would take too much time away right now to get them uploaded and fixed, so I'll do it soon...promise!  We are having SO much fun and LOOOOOVE our "Alabama home".  :)

Picnik.com

OK, so I confess - I LOVE playing with photos, but I'm still not smart enough to figure out photoshop!  I have been using picnik.com for a while now, and I had to share it.  For those of you who love playing with your photos, too, this is like photoshop for dummies!  You can use it to make quick silly edits, or take a long time making a photo beautiful.  Here are a few of my favorites!  Some of them you have to click on to see the text or watermark, but I love them!

L.J. and his Auntie A!

Sweet little pose in Daddy's dryfit

What a gorgeous baby!

One of my favorite people standing in one of my favorite places!

This look is so simple - just change the picture to black and white then use the "marker" to bring back the color you want.

A sweet picture of my mother and her mother.

The ball hit me in the face, but it was worth it!  :)

Beason's feet on his brick ...notice the "finally" watermarks all over.

Sweet couple thankful for their little bundle.  The watermark says "God danced the day you were born".

A friend of ours has a baby that just turned one - here are his litte feet, exactly 12 months old!  The watermark in the background is a first birthday poem for him.

A fun visit :)

Well, we had some sweet company this week.  Some friends from baseball past, The Barber's, came to visit.  We enjoyed a couple of days together after not seeing each other for about 3 years!  Lance played with Scott in Lancaster and El Paso with the Diamondbacks.  Baseball is such a cool thing because you meet people everywhere you go with whom you can stay in touch with for years to come.  We appreciate them making the trip to see us with Baby Caroline in tow!  I seriously had to fight tears when they left - I was seriously attached to that little girl!

Caroline meeting Lance for the first time :)

You have to click on this one and make it bigger to truly appreciate this little girl's porcelain skin.  Is she not beautiful?!

Her daddy is now coaching at the high school level - his coaching number is #20...look at those little hands!

so sweet!

She even let LJ join her for a bath!

So cute!  When we met, these two were just a glimmer in our eyes!  :)
