Happy Birthday, USA!!!

Happy Birthday, America!!!

Above...how LJ feels about fireworks. So, we went out before dusk and had our own "celebration". He wasn't even crazy about holding an unlit sparkler. (as you can see). Can you imagine a HUGE 4th of July fireworks show? I think not. Not yet, at least.

But he did love singing "Happy Birthday" to America... at the top of his lungs. Have you seen that much feeling ever when someone sang the national anthem, let alone a simple "Happy Birthday"? He was so loud, the neighbors came out to investigate.

...while I held Her Birthday candle. See him still dancing and singing in the background?

He may have a problem with fireworks, but he does not have a problem with those little things you throw that pop. He calls them "poppers". He went through an entire box. In less than 3 minutes.

While the fireworks were going, most people were poised, watching. We, on the other hand, had the blinds closed and the iPod playing full blast to drown it out. Who needs fireworks when you've got...

This?? Not us! We decorated brownies as the American flag while we danced around the house to the iPod. He would hear a firework every now and then and say, "Yeah, that's how you do it, fireworks!" He was fine with them, as long as we were inside, together, with music blaring, holding fruit and brownies. Maybe not a "normal" 4th, but it was special, nevertheless.

Yes! It's the annual Family Day post. LJ has a better time each year because he is able to play and have a great time more as he grows. We are so thankful to be doing this as a family. How lucky we are! I hope you enjoy the pics!!

My favorite one, I think :)

Now, that's a good day! In the past week, LJ has fallen asleep on a jet-ski in Alabama, now a boat in Florida! On our off day Monday, we went on the boat with Mr. Bob. Mr. Bob is our neighbor, but he's also like a surrogate grandparent to L.J. L.J. constantly hangs on him, splashes him in the pool, does all the loud, obnoxious things a three-year-old does, and Mr. Bob can't get enough. When we're away, he says it's too quiet, and when Lj's at the pool or around, he finds a way to be nearby. We are blessed to have him!

On of the places we "parked" the boat was on a HUGE sandbar. LJ found these two sand dollars by simply digging in the sand beneath his feet. We could have brought home hundreds if we wanted, but we took just these two. It made me a bit sad to "take them alive", so to speak, but one day they will make wonderful memories of a great day out together.

Here's Mr. Bob and L.J. on the way back to the boat. LJ is already falling asleep and he's only been in his arms for like 5 seconds. :)

Running on the sand bar. Lance, LJ and Mr. Bob played an entire baseball game there :)

I loved these clouds rolling in. It was a beautiful day!

OK, so if this doesn't give you baby fever...you better check your pulse! I had two friends give birth within the last two days! This is just one of them, but I had to share. Holding him brought back so many great memories of when we brought LJ home!
Precious!!
